When it comes to antiquing, stumbling across a lot of old crap comes with the territory. But every once in a while, you find that rare gem of an antique store that truly delights. We’ve waded through an awful lot of old crap to tell you where the absolute best antique stores in Texas are. We’ve compiled all of them on our 2017 Best Stores in Texas list, but here are a few that stand out above the rest.

If you’re a die-hard antiquer, you need to get in your car right now and start driving to Beaumont. They’ve got an incredible lineup of antique stores, deemed by locals to be an “antique trail,” the crown jewel of which is Burns Antik Haus. We have yet to see antiques that good for prices that low. We’ve even heard that dealers on their way to Round Top stop at Burns Antik Haus and then mark up their finds at the Big Red Barn. Sneaky.

Carol Hicks Bolton of her namesake store in Fredericksburg has expanded her brand to include two additional outposts—Room No. 5 and Gus’s Antiques—and they’re just as good as the original.

Of course, Uncommon Market in Dallas continues to impress, and Austin’s Uncommon Objects is just as off-the-wall as ever. Old Home Supply in Fort Worth is a treasure trove of architectural salvage, from doors to claw foot bathtubs.

But why limit yourself to a single store? Our favorite antique malls house hundreds of vendors under one roof: Montgomery Street Antique Mall in Fort Worth and Ye Olde City Antique Mall in Tyler.
